European Oak cut to size
European oak beams and boards, fresh sawn, air dried or kiln dried, cut to your exact sizes at our own sawmill in the Midlands. Choose sawn, planed or chamfered, and add a grade if your engineer needs one.
As one of the few remaining oak sawmills in the UK, we cut beams and boards to order with experienced sawyers. Cutting straight from the log gives you real flexibility on size, appearance and cost.
Fresh sawn (green) oak is the traditional choice for oak framing and outdoor structures, and will shrink and check as it dries. Air dried beams are drier and used mainly indoors. Kiln dried boards are for internal joinery and furniture.
Build your cutting list below. Mix beams and boards, finishes and grades, then add everything to your basket in one go. Orders are typically ready for collection within 5 working days, or delivered on our crane vehicles within 10 working days to most areas.
Grading to BS 5756 is optional and only needed if your engineer or building control asks for it. Need help with sizes? Call 01536 267107 or start a live chat. All dimensions are in millimetres
Boards are cut to your sizes at our sawmill, up to 3.5 m long and 275 mm wide for this option. Some thicknesses come in set sizes. Boards are mostly cross-cut a little longer than ordered so you can trim them exactly to size.
Air dried European oak boards for external joinery, less prone to movement than fresh sawn oak. They are not dry enough for heated interiors, so for indoor joinery and furniture choose kiln dried.
Character grade allows knots and other natural features; large unsound knots and splits that affect use are measured out.
