- Supplied as 142 mm and 70 mm boards, 22 mm thick
Our Kiln Dried Ash Wood Board on Board Internal Cladding is board on board cladding in English ash, for internal use.
About English ash
English ash with a light, elegantly rustic look. Boards contain sound knots of varying size, some colour variation, fissures and areas of tight, straight grain, and will expand and contract as they acclimatise.
Ash is not durable outdoors (BS EN 350 class 5), so it is for internal use only.
Profile and fitting
Board on board uses two widths: the 142 mm boards are fixed underneath and the 70 mm boards go on top. Each 70 mm top board overlaps the 142 mm boards beneath it by 15 mm on each side. Each pair of boards (one 142 mm and one 70 mm) covers 182 mm of wall (142 + 70 less two 15 mm overlaps).
Space the 142 mm under-boards 40 mm apart (70 less two 15 mm overlaps). You see the full 70 mm top board and 112 mm of each 142 mm under-board.
Equal-width option, 142 mm over 142 mm: space the under-boards 112 mm apart (142 less two 15 mm overlaps). Each pair covers 254 mm of wall; you see the full 142 mm top board and 112 mm of each under-board.
Grades and options
- First Grade: completely sap free, with straight grain. Colour may vary.
- Character Grade: knots and wavy grain. Boards can be heavily discoloured.
- End matching (tongue and groove on the board ends) lets you place joints where they fall rather than on a batten, which speeds up fitting and reduces wastage.
