Ledged and Braced Solid Oak Doors

At UK Timber we offer a wide range of Solid Oak Internal Doors to fit your every need. Whatever you wish to use the door for we have an option for everything, from using them for a contemporary or traditional house to a barn conversion or simply for cupboards and wardrobes.

Ledged and braced doors are similarly designed to 3 ledge, ledged door, although with 2 braces going diagonally from the bottom of one ledge to the top of another ledge. Viewing a ledged and braced door from the back, you will see both a Z and an inverted Z shape of the ledges and braces joined together, whereas from the front you will see the clean vertical lines of the solid Oak boards.

The braces are secured in way that will allow the door to be inverted according to which way the door is hung and enforce the rigidity provided by the braces, and help eliminate as much sagging as possible.

These doors are made with three evenly spaced ledges and two braces between them. The ledges are approximately 20mm in from each edge to allow for each door to be safely cut down, and also to allow the option of hanging with traditional of modern hinges.

Available in Prestige and Priory Ranges:

• The Priory range of doors is made with a frame of solid Oak, comprising of 16mm Ledge and Brace and 16mm Upright Tongue and Groove Boards. to achieve ultimate solidity without sacrificing the beauty inherent in European Oak.
• The Prestige range of doors is made with a frame of solid Oak, comprising of 22mm Ledge and Brace and 22mm Upright Tongue and Groove Boards, to achieve ultimate solidity without sacrificing the beauty inherent in European Oak. 

These Solid Oak Ledged and Braced doors are available in two different grades- Character and Prime Grade:

• Character Grade will have more imperfections such as knots and a large allowance for sapwood, but will be completely filled leaving a smooth fine finish and giving the door more character and rustic finish 
• Prime Grade will contain less character features, with fewer knots and a smaller allowance for sapwood to give the door a more clean contemporary look

All doors are made with care and wrapped completely before dispatch to alleviate concerns of delivery damage and so ensuring a pristine product delivery.
