Framed, Ledged and Braced Solid Ash Doors

At UK Timber we offer a wide range of Solid Ash Internal Doors to fit your every need. Whatever you wish to use the door for we have an option for everything, from using them for a contemporary or traditional house to a barn conversion or simply for cupboards and wardrobes, there are doors which fit all these needs. 

Our hand crafted doors are available in an extensive range of designs and sizes, all of which are manufactured from character and prime grade English Ash which may contain features such as knots, splits, and worm track. Our English Ash has been kiln dried to 10% moisture content making the doors extremely stable which minimises any bowing or warping after installation.

Usually we will use provide a wider bottom to the frame to allow the door to be sized accurately and trimmed to fit (usually about 125mm). This framed and ledged design is the same as the standard framed designed but with the exception of inverted ledges with the option of either 1,2 or 3 horizontal ledges (approx. 110mm).

Available in Prestige and Priory Ranges:

• The Priory range of doors is made with a frame of solid Ash, laminated for additional strength and stability from 17mm boards and 15mm ledges to achieve a 32mm frame to achieve ultimate solidity without sacrificing the beauty inherent in Ash wood.
• The Prestige range of doors is made with a frame of solid Ash, laminated for additional strength and stability from 20mm boards and 22mm ledges to achieve a 44mm frame to achieve ultimate solidity without sacrificing the beauty inherent in Ash wood.

The vertical boards have a micro bevel on the corners giving a V-Groove appearance and the external boards used for ledges, braced and frames are fixed with screws to the vertical boards and then wooden plugs are used to fill the screw holes.

These Framed, Ledged and Braced Solid Ash doors are available in two different grades- Character and Prime Grade:

• Character Grade will have more imperfections such as knots and a large allowance for sapwood, but will be completely filled leaving a smooth fine finish and giving the door more character and rustic finish 
• Prime Grade will contain less character features, with fewer knots and a smaller allowance for sapwood to give the door a more clean contemporary look

All doors are made with care and wrapped completely before dispatch to alleviate concerns of delivery damage and so ensuring a pristine product delivery.
