More info

Shiplap cladding is the perfect profile choice should you require not only excellent weather protection, but clean smooth lines and a smarter finish for your cladding project. Commonly fitted horizontally, once in place the visually pleasing shadow lines will accentuate the length of your building and offer a uniformed appearance. Suitable for both contemporary and traditional applications, in both residential and commercial settings, the shiplap profile is predominantly used on new-builds or on extensions to older properties.

Air-dried oak (seasoned) is oak that has been dried since the tree was felled, either by spending 3-5 years exposed to air or by accelerated drying inside a kiln. This process reduces the moisture content to approximately 20-30% compared to that of our other oak cladding, making it more stable than a fresh sawn cladding product and less prone to shrinkage. Due to the higher grade of oak used, you will experience less sap, fewer/smaller knots and a tighter/straighter grain. Being a natural product, you may also experience some colour variation and when in place, some natural movement as the timber adjusts to the changing seasons. These characteristics are to be expected and will give the beautiful natural distinctive appearance of oak.

Your boards will be supplied untreated. No treatments are required, however if you wish to preserve the supplied colour or use a weather resistant sealant, please take a look at our Treatex range. Should you wish to leave it to age gracefully, it will eventually turn to a beautiful silvery grey colour as the suns rays do their work.

This cladding is recommended for external use only. If exposed to varying weather conditions before fitting your boards, they are likely to cup, warp and split; the ideal time to fit cladding to keep this to a minimum is between the months of October and April and within 7 to 14 days of delivery.

We offer the following section sizes:

  • 115mm x 25mm - The overall width is 115mm, with the visible face measuring 105mm
  • 145mm x 25mm - The overall width is 145mm, with the visible face measuring 135mm

This profile is priced per square metre and comes in random lengths between 2400mm and 3600mm unless otherwise specified for an additional charge:

  • Set lengths up to 3500mm - £4.00 extra per square metre exc VAT
  • Set lengths above 3500mm - £8.00 extra per square metre exc VAT

Please contact our Sales Team on 01536 267 107 should you require set lengths.

Still unsure? We offer up to two samples of our cladding boards for a £5 inc VAT postage charge. Should you wish to then purchase cladding boards that are the same product as your samples, we will reimburse you the £5 postage charge upon ordering!*
