Our Premium Black Painted Nordic Spruce Rebated Featheredge External Cladding is rebated featheredge cladding in Nordic spruce, factory painted, for external use.

About the boards

Cut from Nordic spruce and kiln dried to 18% moisture content for stability. The boards are vacuum primed for long-term protection against decay, insect and fungal attack, then factory painted with two coats on the face and one on the back. The paint is flexible and has a life expectancy of at least 15 years.

Profile and fitting

Featheredge boards are cut on the diagonal to give a tapered board that is overlapped when fitted, like roof tiles.

Each board tapers from 28 mm to 8 mm, with three 5 x 5 mm stress-relief grooves on the underside to help resist cupping (groove detail provisional).

Fit with a 35 mm lap, giving a 160 mm visible face per board (provisional figures).

The rebate lets each board sit flat for extra stability and weather resistance.

Leave a 4 mm gap between boards for expansion.
