Our Treated English Softwood Featheredge External Cladding is featheredge cladding in English softwood, for external use.

English grown mixed softwood, pressure treated with Tanalith E for Use Class 3 (BS 8417). Re-seal any cut ends with an end grain preservative.

Cut from a 38 mm board to finish at approx. 28 mm down to 8 mm at the feather.

An economical way to cover large areas: stables, barns, pergolas and other timber framed structures.

Featheredge boards are cut on the diagonal to give a tapered board that is overlapped when fitted, like roof tiles.

Our suggested overlap, for working out quantities: we suggest a 35 mm overlap: 175 mm boards give 140 mm cover and 200 mm boards give 165 mm cover.

Natural timber varies: expect some differences in colour and grain from board to board and from the photos.
Boards left exposed to changing weather before fitting are likely to cup, warp and split. We suggest fitting between October and April where possible, within 7 days of delivery.
Sizes are nominal and can vary slightly with moisture content.
