UK Timber Ltd are one of the few oak flooring manufacturers in the UK and we are delighted to tell you that in response to customer demand we are adding to our extensive portfolio. Our beautifully machined Tavern Grade Solid American White Oak Flooring is now available, a completely bespoke product that is machined to order.

Tavern Grade Solid American White Oak Flooring is sometimes referred to as pub grade and barn grade across the industry. Characterised by the highest number of large knots, burrs, cracks, holes and colour streaks, compared to other grades, these floorboards are perfect for rooms where you require maximum character. Predominantly used in cottages, barns and pubs, this flooring is perfect for high traffic areas, as the more wear it gets, the better it looks!

In terms of durability, there is no difference between any of our other flooring grades, you are still getting the same level of durability. You simply just need to base your decision on which grade suits your setting best.

Everything about our Solid American White Oak Flooring is unique, we machine the material from the tree to its final form - all of our production is inhouse allowing us to select the best boards for your floorboards. Our process begins with the tree passing through our sawmill, where the boards are graded and selected for their final purpose.

As with all of our hardwood flooring, these boards are kiln dried to between an 8 - 12% moisture content for ultimate stability and then graded once more before being sawn to size. Finally they are planed to a beautifully smooth finish, good enough to be left as is, ready for a final sanding once in position.

Taking care of your woodwork is of paramount importance, UK Timber works closely with the Treatex brand to provide you with a range of products that offer great value for money without compromising on effectiveness or quality. Supplied untreated, our range of Treatex Hardwax Oils will give your floorboards a stunning finish and the protection it requires.

For effective installation, we recommend that the boards are laid onto a flat surface. Unlike floorboards with cross-cut ends, these ends-matched boards simply click together without the need to select/cut boards to ensure that the ends land on a joist, this ultimately will save you both money and time!
