We are introducing to the market a cladding profile like no other.
In response to customer demand, we have developed a cladding profile to allow you to cut down on waste, installation time and ultimately to save you money!
With a tongue on one end of your board and a groove on the other end, there is no need to cut your boards to the match the lengths between your battens. The tongue and groove will slot into place, allowing you to screw your board onto the batten at any point on your board.
End-Matching will allow you to place joints where they fall, instead of on the stud, allowing you to finish the job more quickly without sacrificing on quality.
Our Siberian Larch Tongue and Groove Ends Matched Cladding is the ideal choice should you require that traditional 'T&G' look to your cladding project, speedier fixing times, along with the natural durability and stunning grain of Siberian Larch.
Naturally Siberian Larch will offer your cladding project stability, durability and a beautiful grain; there are few better choices than this very slow grown, incredibly dense softwood. Due to its high resin content, Siberian Larch is one of the most naturally hardy of all softwood species and highly durable without any treatment - you'll almost be getting the abilities of oak at softwood prices!
Our Siberian Larch is kiln dried to an 18% moisture content, making it ideal for use in both internal and external applications.
Ready to fix and available in two options - First and Character Grade:
• First Grade is sorted to include only the clearest (most knot free) boards with the straightest grain possible. A perfect choice for all modern and contemporary applications.
• Character will have a mixture of all top four grades, 1 through to 4 - some clear of knots and some straight grain, others with knots and some sloping grain. A perfect choice for all traditional/rustic applications, it gives a less uniformed look, without compromising its excellent durability properties.
End-Matching (Tongue and Groove) will allow you to place joints where they fall, instead of on the stud, allowing you to finish the job more quickly without sacrificing on quality and helps minimise wastage.
These boards are fixed together by inserting the tongue into the groove. The chamfering at the top and the bottom of the boards accentuates the individual boards by creating a subtle 'V' shadow line along the joints. Dependent on your style, they can also be fitted either horizontally or vertically; should you choose to fit them horizontally, it is recommended that the boards are installed with the tongue uppermost, this is to allow any moisture to fall away from the tongue.
UK Timber works with the Treatex brand to enable us to offer you treatments and finishes for both internal and external applications. Our Treatex Douglas Fir Protection offers long lasting weather protection for external applications, whereas for internal applications our range of Treatex Hardwax Oils will enhance the woods natural appearance and characteristics. Should you wish to leave it to age gracefully, your boards will eventually turn to a beautiful silvery grey colour.
We offer the following section sizes with a 5mm tongue at one end of the board and a 5mm groove at the other end of the board:
• 117mm x 20mm - The overall width is 117mm, with the visible face measuring 107mm
• 142mm x 20mm - The overall width is 142mm, with the visible face measuring 132mm
The face size is less 10mm to account for the tongue joint.
If your boards are exposed to varying weather conditions before fitting, they are likely to cup, warp and split; the ideal time to fit cladding to keep this to a minimum is between the months of October and April and within 7 to 14 days of delivery.
Priced per square metre and supplied in random lengths between 1200mm and 3600mm unless otherwise specified for an additional charge:
• Set lengths up to 3500mm - £4.00 extra per square metre exc VAT
• Set lengths above 3500mm - £8.00 extra per square metre exc VAT
This can be done by adding the 'Set lengths (Cladding)' product to your basket (1 quantity = 1 square meter of cladding). You will need the same amount of cladding and set lengths in your basket to get the set lengths that you need so make sure to double check you have added the correct quantity.
Please contact our Sales Team on 01536 267 107 should you have any issues.
Still unsure? We offer up to two samples of our cladding boards for a £5 inc VAT postage charge. Should you wish to then purchase cladding boards that are the same product as your samples, we will reimburse you the £5 postage charge upon ordering! Terms and Conditions apply.
Please be aware that sizes are subject to change in response to changes in moisture levels. Cladding will be kiln-dried to approximately an 18% moisture content prior to machining, but may vary between production and installation on site. Cladding will be dispatched at given sizes, but a margin of error should be used when producing cladding layout drawings for expansion and contraction in the timber.
