Produced from the finest quality Radiata Pine thermal treated cladding can serve as an alternative, equally attractive, cost effective solution to Western Red Cedar. Virtually clear of knots, the timber comes with PEFC certification and a fully independent audited energy and carbon trail which gives the product carbon neutral certification.
ThermoWood ShipLap, also known as SLP Channel Siding is beautifully machined and moulded for a superior quality of finish and appearance to your home.
Can be used for a wide variety of purposes because of its affordability and quick maturity.
Machined to a smooth fine finish, an originally pale coloured timber (that becomes a lovely deep brown colour when thermally treated) with wide distinguishable growth rings, the timber is generally quite uniform in grain structure. Can be used for interior and exterior applications, featuring all the good characteristics provided by thermal treatment: weather resistance, thermal insulation and it has excellent characteristics for decay resistance, all backed up by a 30 year guarantee from SLP Thermowood.
Its beautiful brown colour can be retained by treating the boards with tinted/pigmented wood oil, wax, protecting stain, varnish or paint, containing a UV filter.
Thermal treatment makes wood slightly more susceptible to splitting when fixing. For this reason we recommend using self-tapping screws with a coarse thread or pre-drilled holes before fixing. The screws should be stainless-steel and suitable for fastening wood.
